A video of King George VI stuttering and stammering, from the British Pathe archive. This clip was said to have moved Colin Firth to tears, as reported by the New York Times.
The King is opening the Empire exhibitino at Ibrox Park in Glasgow, Scotland (1938). Queen Elizabeth is there (formerly The Queen Mother, and before that the Duchess of York, played in the film ‘The King’s Speech’ by Helena Bonham-Carter).
